All the movie buffs out there have a very exciting weekend to look forward to. 24th of June marks the date of some exceptional movie release that cannot be missed. From watching our personal favourite Nawazuddin in a dark avatar in Raman Raghav 2.0 to to Dhanak that is based on the concept of celebrating life, there’s a variety of movies to choose from.

Here are 5 movies you need to watch this weekend with your friends and family:

7 Hours to Go: 7 hours to Go is an power packed thriller written & directed by Saurabh Verma starring Shiva Pandit, Sanddepa Dhar, Natasha Stankovic and Varun Badola. The movie is inspired by real life events that take place on a regular basis in Mumbai. 7 Hours to go revolves around a hostage crisis and the whirlwind of events that take place within 7 hours after that incident.  The intensity of the concept and the hard work put in by the team absolutely makes it a must watch!

Independence Day: Independence Day Resurgence is an American sci-fi directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Emmerich, Dean Devlin, Nicholas Wright, James A. Woods and James Vanderbilt. Resurgenceis a sequel to the 1996 film Independence Day. The sequel stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and William Fichtner. It is one of the most talked about movies, which makes it a favourite weekend pick!

Raman Raghav 2.0: Raman Raghav 2.0 is a thriller based on the serial killer Raman Raghav who operated in Mumbai during the mid-1960s. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is portraying he title character and the movie is directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film premiered at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight to a rousing reception, raising hopes of a good show at the box office. The movies has already created a lot of buzz and tops the movie charts this weekend, Anurag and Nawazzudin are all set to take the audience in for a treat!

Dhanak: A Nagesh Kukunoor film, Dhanak is about an undying sibling bond that teaches us the importance of celebrating life. Dhanak was premiered at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival where it competed in the Generation KPlus section and won the Crystal Bear Grand Prix for Best Children’s Film, and Special Mention for the Best Feature Film by The Children’s Jury for Generation Kplus. The film has also garnered the Best Film Award in the main category-Children’s Feature Film Competition-Cinema in Sneakers (film festival), and the Best Film Award – at the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (FIFEM). The movie emits a lot of positivity and gives out a heartwarming message. It’s certainly not a movie one must miss!

Dhanak

Junooniyat: Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat have come together to create the magic of love in an upcoming romantic movie Junooniyat. The movie is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, produced by Bhushan Kumar under his T-series banner. The beautiful chemistry between the two will drag you to a theatre near you and it will definitely not let you down!
