Eros International and NextGen Films’ MUNNA MICHAEL recently went on floors and the team flagged the shoot off with a bang. Produced by Viki Rajani, the romantic musical packaged with stylised action, marks the coming together of director Sabbir Khan and Tiger Shroff after two consecutive hits – HEROPANTI and BAAGHI.
Tiger, who has always spoken about his love for the legendary Michael Jackson, will now pay ode to the pop icon and is going all out to replicate his moves in the film.
Three massive sets reflecting Mumbai’s nightlife have been created at a studio in Mulund. Over 400 dancers under the guidance of choreographer Ganesh Acharya are all set to synchronise moves to an ambitious song, which opens the film.
Incorporating moves from some of Hollywood’s finest background artistes, the song can only be described as Tiger Shroff’s finest and most challenging till date.
Talking about the song says director Sabbir Khan, “The song was recorded in Mumbai and sent to LA, where a team of American choreographers created dance videos which our Bollywood team and Tiger have recreated here. We’re keeping all the quintessential elements of Hindi cinema – heroism, music, dance and action – intact while trying to raise the bar.”
Tiger will be imitating some of MJ’s most iconic dance moves, including the ‘toe-stand’, ‘crotch grab’, ‘moonwalk’, ‘feet shuffle’, ‘MJ spin’, ‘anti-gravity lean’, ‘sideslide’, ‘robot’ and ‘jacket throwback’.
Says producer Viki Rajani, “As we all know Tiger is one of the best dancers in Bollywood and this movie will distance him for the others. He moves like magic and in MUNNA MICHAEL people are going to see some unbelievable moves from him. With this movie to set a benchmark for dancing in Bollywood.”
Says Tiger, “MJ’s the greatest and this entire film’s dedicated to him. It’s a new journey and I hope he’s watching.”
